I was going to celebrate on the cross-quarter point tomorrow, but we were sent home early from work due to snow, so guess how I used my extra time?
I said a prayer suggested by Rae Beth, lit three candles, made my wishes for the coming cycle, and performed the following reading suggested by Lucy Cavendish using my Wisdom of Avalon cards, which are the closest thing I have to tarot.
The fact that they were all “major arcana” cards made me feel like the upcoming cycle will be kind of exciting and explosive!
Influence clinging from Samhain: The Dog – Loyalty, sincerity, unconditional love
“Dog asks you to consider the loyalty of others. If someone is being insincere, move on because he or she isn’t meant to be in your pack. Ask the Dog for a sign, and your answer will be shown.”
This seems to indicate the heartache and pain – and cynicism – left over from my brief relationship with Mike. I do believe now that while he may not have purposely lied, a lot of what he said to me was untruth. This has impacted me negatively because I now feel I can no longer believe in soulmates and true love. I believe this is indicating to me that I can still believe if I am brave of heart, and this will bring new love to me more smoothly. I release these fears now for my highest good.
Current energy or influence: The Hawk – Omens, messages
“Be open to messages from others, and be aware of omens and signs in nature. The world is constantly attempting to communicate with us, but we human beings have forgotten how to listen. So, remember who you are – an intrinsic part of the Great Mystery of Life. Listen and learn.”
This is really quite true. Several dreams recently around one particular situation in my life have involved the theme of listening…and have preceded the event of listening to something significent during wakefulness. This last week I dreamed I was listening to a song I had never heard before; it was unusual, unique and unmistakeable in its tone and melody. Two days later, I heard the song for real. Something else of significance is the snow. It has snowed today in a way it has not for many years. It snowed on the day I found out I was carrying my son, too. And on the day my mum brought me home from the hospital as a baby. Snow is a messenger to me, so I will be listening to the album containing the song in meditation later tonight. I will update with any further observations, though I feel that whatever I need to know will come to me subsequently.
Upcoming fears, dreams or wishes: The Frog reversed – Cleaning house, releasing emotional baggage
“Look around you and take stock of what surrounds you. Does what you see hold positive and supportive energy? If not, it’s time to throw it away and release it so that it, in turn, will release you from its influence.”
In some ways I am not sure what this means. Most things surrounding me are now positive – I have just had my big spring clean. However work is still getting me down and I think that does need evaluating. I am also still influenced by the energy of my ex-partners and how they made me feel about myself. I am not sure how to get rid of that, but I hereby put the request into the universe to release that energy and will work more with Archangel Michael on it.
Energy to balance: The Merlin – Alchemy, justice, balance
